What the cork?

Cork, what's the big deal anyways?

5000 years ago, us humans began harvesting and using this unique material.

It's been used to seal liquid in containers since ancient Egypt, Persia and Babylon. Notably wine!

However, the first wine cork as we know it for a standard wine bottle dates to the 1700s in France

Today, you can wear beautiful hats, glasses, and wallets made out of this beautiful material!

This material is found all over the Mediterranean, notably Portugal!

It is one of the most sustainable materials on earth due to how fast it grows back. Also, the cork tree does not need to be felled, it just grows back on the bark! A truly amazing tree.
