Exploring the Wild Beauty of Kenai Fjords, Alaska

Of all the travel destinations we've had the chance to explore one of the most breathtaking and rugged places on earth—Kenai Fjords National Park in Alaska. Tucked away on the southern coast of Alaska, this park isn’t as often visited as some of the other major destinations in the state, but that’s part of its magic. Towering mountains plunge into icy-blue waters, massive glaciers carve their way through valleys, and the sense of raw, untouched wilderness surrounds you at every turn.

Our adventure took us across pristine waters in bright red kayaks, where we paddled alongside glaciers that seemed to glow with their own light. Seals and sea otters bobbed in the waves nearby, while bald eagles soared overhead, keeping watch from the cliffs. The marine life here is absolutely thriving—whales, puffins, and schools of fish fill these fjords with energy. On land, the hikes lead you through lush forests and up to viewpoints where you can take in endless panoramas of jagged peaks and glacial ice.

Kenai Fjords is the kind of place that fuels Papago’s spirit of adventure and love for the outdoors. It’s wild, beautiful, and unforgettable—a reminder of why we create sunglasses designed for travelers, explorers, and nature-lovers everywhere. This trip left us with stories and inspiration that will last a lifetime.

If you’re dreaming of a true off-the-grid experience filled with glaciers, wildlife, and rugged beauty, Kenai Fjords should be on your list. To learn more about the park and how you can plan your own trip, check out the Kenai Fjords National Park website!
